I was a bit surprised
when I received a phone call last night about an inquiry for the Gaming Desktop Set that I've posted on my site at http://damnels.sulit.com.ph/ .
The guy was truly respectful, even asked me if I've got couple
minutes to answer his call. It was a nice and common conversation, customers
asking for the specs (specifications), last price, shipping, warranty and mode
of payment etc.. Then the question hit me. He asked “what’s the difference of a
normal computer to a gaming computer?”
Seriously
I didn't know what to answer; I've never really asked that question
to someone or to myself even when I was just a newbie. So, I told him that they’re
almost the same and started describing the difference with the price telling
him that a gaming computer is a bit costly compared to a normal computer. It
will demand more components like videocards, disk space, and more memory
modules to achieve the performance that a gamer or even the game requires.
I ended up using NBA 2K13 as an example just
to make the picture clearer for him, explained that in a normal computer without
a dedicated videocard, you can play
the game in low setting with no problem, but if you want to play it in high
settings with no hangs or lags (delays) might as well consider adding
a decent videocard that will do the job for you. But I tell you “it’s not cheap.”
The phone call ended as
a reservation for the item that was selling and hopefully he had at least a
good grasp of the information that he’s looking for which I think I’ve
provided.
From Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia
A gaming computer (also gaming rig and sometimes called a gaming PC) is a personal computer that is capable of playing
computationally demanding video games. Gaming computers are very similar to conventional
PCs, with the main difference being the addition of performance-oriented
components such as a high-end CPU and one or more video cards.
